Synopsis

A businessman, Rex Fortesce, dies in his office. The coroner reports that he has been poisoned with taxin, a strange poison that is obtained from the leaves of the tiles, trees that precisely surround the dead man's estate. One inexplicable fact is that in the deceased's pocket is a handful of rye grains. Shortly after, Gladys, the maid of Fortesce, also died and, as a result, the police got the unpayable collaboration of miss Marple, who had had the girl at his service and wanted to avenge her death.
