The Field of Blood

Original title: The Field of Blood
Not started 1999 Mystery English 326 pp.

Synopsis

When a prostitute and a preacher decide to spend the night in a house in ruins, the last thing they expect is to witness a crime and that cost them their lives. No less surprising it is to Fra Athelstan that three bodies appear at the door of his parish. In case of little, the confession of a young woman accused of murder reveals the existence of several human remains in a meadow next to the Thames. The dead accumulate and John Cranston is desperate: he cannot take a step without stumbling into a new deceased. The city of London has become a blood field where all are suspected of murder.
