The last romantic
The action of "The Last Romantics" began in the spring of 1866 with the arrival in Paris of the protagonist, Mr Fausto Bengoa, who wants to visit an old friend of his mother, who seems to have the intention to make him and his family heirs of his property. During his stay in the city, Bengoa comes into contact with the Spanish emigrants in the French capital.
The mother
The novel follows the evolution of Pelagia Nilovna, a woman aged prematurely because of her husband's blows and the misery of a Russian industrial city. After becoming a widow, he was afraid to see how his son Pável began to bring banned books and to organize clandestine meetings in his home.
