The novel, written in an epistolar way, presents other topics, such as the role of women in the Victorian era, sexuality, immigration, colonialism or folklore. As a curiosity, it should be noted that Bram Stoker did not invent the vampire legend, but the influence of the novel has managed to make it to the cinema, the theatre and the television.
