Collect the experiences of the character Aleksandr Petrovich Goryánchikov in Siberian prison for killing his wife in the first year of his marriage. He transmits his knowledge of the Bible, a book that the author himself read daily in prison and from which he derived his idea of the use of suffering as liberation and spiritual salvation.
