The horoscope
The plot begins in 1559, at the inn of the Red Horse, where a stormy night brings together various characters: a mysterious Hugonote who hides his identity, the Duke of Guisa, the Marshal of Saint- André, his young daughter Carlota, the paje Mézières and the prince of Condé. An old woman, known for her ability to read the future, reveals a gloomy horoscope: she predicts violent deaths for some and dark destinations for others.
