The corsary is, above all, an autobiographical poem that narrates the adventures of a certain Conrad, a corsary rejected by society - not women - because of its scandalous behavior. The poem immediately attracted the attention of the public due to Byron's sweeping personality, even some adept to statistics claim that ten thousand copies were sold during his first day on the street.
