Synopsis
In Gertrudis, the first person narrates the misfortunes and alternative waves of a painful experience of love. The protagonist speaks of his childhood and his predisposition for music. In adolescence, he suffers from the attraction of Liddy, a frivolous girl, and on the return of a cheerful excursion, "the dumbest day of my foolish youth," the sled in which they go hastens, a terrible accident comes, and the young man is left semi-detached forever.
