Synopsis
In the dystopian future, Winston Smith lives in a society governed by the Party, which controls every aspect of people's lives. Winston works in the Ministry of Truth, whose function is to rewrite history to fit the Party narrative. But Winston is beginning to question the Party's control and manipulation, which leads it to a dangerous path. 1984 is a classic novel by George Orwell that has influenced popular culture and our understanding of government surveillance and the loss of individual freedom.
